Montreux Riviera is a tourism region in French-speaking Switzerland, stretching along the northern shore of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) between the towns of Montreux, Vevey, La Tour-de-Peilz and Villeneuve. The region blends a lively lakeside urban character with the terraced vineyards of the Lavaux UNESCO area and the high peaks of the Vaud Alps, including the Rochers-de-Naye. It is dominated by the lake, whose quays, decks and summer guinguettes define the relaxed 'Dolce Riviera' atmosphere, while the mountains rise directly behind the shore. Montreux and Vevey form the cultural heart of the region, famous for a rich festival calendar and a strong musical heritage. Summer activities
In summer, Montreux Riviera comes alive along the lake with seasonal guinguettes and decks on the quays of Vevey and La Tour-de-Peilz, where visitors relax with their feet in the water. The region offers a wide range of outdoor experiences, from hiking trails through the Lavaux vineyards and up to the Rochers-de-Naye, to kayaking and stand-up paddle tours on Lake Geneva, and tandem paragliding flights over the lake. Scenic little trains and funiculars, wine tastings in the Lavaux terraces, and guided walks through the old towns round out the summer programme.

Montreux Riviera is one of Switzerland's most festival-rich regions, anchored by the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival, which brings jazz, pop and rock stars to the lakeside every July. The cultural calendar continues with the Cully Jazz Festival, the Septembre Musical classical music festival, the Montreux Comedy Festival, the Biennale Images Vevey photography biennale, and the Freddie Days tribute to Freddie Mercury.
