Alimentarium
The Alimentarium in Vevey, Switzerland, is the world's first food-themed museum, exploring the many aspects of the human diet. Its permanent exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the global food system and the challenges it faces regarding global health and the environment, featuring video installations, photographs, contemporary artworks and nearly 500 heritage objects. The museum also includes an urban vegetable garden with over 300 edible plants, an educational kitchen and a Junior area with games on food and nutrition. It hosts changing temporary exhibitions and offers a wide range of culinary workshops and activities.
Families and Kids
The Alimentarium offers a Junior area with a child-friendly kitchen and over 25 games on food and nutrition, as well as culinary workshops for children. Children's birthday parties are available, and cooking workshops are open to visitors from 6 years old if accompanied by an adult, or from 10 years old independently. Children under 10 years old must be supervised by an adult.
