Musée de Montreux

The Musée de Montreux in Montreux, Switzerland, is a regional history museum housed in 17th-century winemakers' houses at the entrance to the Old Town. Its permanent exhibition traces the history of Montreux and its region from prehistory to the present day, covering themes such as woodworking, sewing, famous guests and tourism. The collections include natural history objects, coins, fire marks, carpentry tools, costumes, photographs and prints, as well as a notable collection of over 3,400 thimbles, one of the largest in a Swiss museum. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.

Families and Kids

The museum offers creative workshops for children, such as making a recycled notebook for ages 6 to 12, and family events with creative activities for children aged 5 and up. A family rally through the Old Town of Montreux is also organised during the Foire des Planches.
