Sierre

Sierre
Sierre is a town in the heart of the canton of Valais in Switzerland, known as the "City of the Sun" for its generous sunshine. The region blends an urban centre with surrounding wine-growing villages on the slopes, along the Rhône and in the vineyards, each with its own character. Nestled between peaks and valleys, it is a gateway to mountain adventure, close to Crans-Montana, the Val d'Anniviers, Vercorin and Loèche-les-Bains. The Rhône plain and the Pfyn-Finges nature park of national importance shape the landscape, along with lakes and traditional irrigation channels (bisses). Sierre is Switzerland's leading wine-producing region, with vineyards, cellars and wine tourism at the heart of local life, alongside a rich cultural and historical heritage.
