Jurapark Aargau
Jurapark Aargau is a regional nature park of national importance in the Swiss canton of Aargau, spanning 299 km² across 31 municipalities between the Aare and the Rhine. The hilly Jura landscape is rural and dominated by forests, vineyards, and traditional high-stem orchards, with no large cities at its centre. It is a protected area where nature and culture meet, home to rare plants and animals, historic villages and castles, and thermal baths. The park is organised as an association and promotes sustainable, nature-friendly tourism, with the towns of Laufenburg, Frick, Brugg and Aarau serving as gateways. Visitors can explore the region on foot, by bike or by Postauto, discovering viewpoints, cultural heritage and regional products.
Summer activities
In summer the Jurapark Aargau is a paradise for hikers and cyclists. A dense network of themed and hiking trails crosses the hilly Jura landscape, including the Fricktaler Chriesiwäg through cherry orchards, the Flösserweg along the old rafting route, the Römeweg and the Fricktaler Höhenweg. The Jurapark Aargau velo route and various E-bike tours connect the region, and kayaking on the Rhine is offered. Families can follow the adventurous Perimuk trails, while viewpoints such as the Gisliflue and Cheisacherturm offer wide views over the Jura, Alps and Black Forest. Regional thermal baths and forest bathing round off the summer offer.

The Jurapark Aargau is rich in living cultural heritage. Historic old towns such as Laufenburg, medieval castles, ruins and churches, Roman traces and villages with townscapes of national importance shape the region. Living traditions such as the Eierleset and Pfingstsprützlig, old crafts like woodturning, and a lively programme of events including the KulturNacht Laufenburg, the KUL'TOUR reading series, concerts, markets and Christmas events bring the culture to life. Museums and geological sites round off the cultural offer.
