The Weggis Vitznau Rigi holiday region, known as the Lucerne Riviera, lies in central Switzerland on the shores of Lake Lucerne at the southern foot of Mount Rigi. Summer on the Lucerne Riviera centres on the crystal-clear waters of Lake Lucerne, with idyllic bathing spots such as the Weggis Lido and free public swimming areas. Boat trips on historic paddle steamers, sailing boats and pedalos explore the lake, while water sports include stand-up paddling, canoeing, kayaking and motorboat hire. The Rigi offers a network of 120 kilometres of hiking trails from easy lakeside walks to challenging ascents, and the region's mountain railways and record-breaking cable cars provide spectacular rides to panoramic viewpoints.
Winter activities
Winter on the Lucerne Riviera is centred on Mount Rigi, the Queen of the Mountains. Three family-friendly ski areas with four ski lifts offer 20 kilometres of relaxed downhill skiing, with a ski school and a kids' ski area at Rigi Staffel. Five well-maintained toboggan runs total 14 kilometres, with sledges available for hire. Winter hiking and snowshoeing trails explore the snow-covered landscape, and winter experiences include horse-drawn sleigh rides, guided snowshoe tours and wellness days at the mineral baths and spa at Rigi Kaltbad.

The Weggis Vitznau Rigi region is steeped in tradition, with local customs handed down over decades and deeply rooted in the community.
