Wasserschloss Hagenwil

Wasserschloss Hagenwil near Amriswil in Switzerland is the only surviving moated castle in eastern Switzerland with around 800 years of history. The historic building houses a restaurant, rooms for banquets, weddings and corporate events, as well as two historic guest rooms. Visitors can take part in castle tours, castle festival plays and a puzzle tour through the castle.

Children can explore the castle on a special puzzle tour in small teams, and the castle festival plays include a children's play suitable from kindergarten age. Around the castle there are opportunities to play, and the nearby Hudelmoos nature reserve invites families on an excursion.

    Guided castle tours last about 45 minutes and cost a flat rate of CHF 90.00 for groups of up to 25 people. A maximum of two groups can be accommodated at the same time.
  • Is the castle accessible for wheelchair users?
    There is no guest lift, but a goods lift is available. The restaurant can be reached via six steps, and the castle garden, courtyard and Mostkeller are at ground level. The Rittersaal, Grossmutterstübli and the two rooms cannot be reached by lift.

    Well-behaved dogs are not only allowed but warmly welcome, and fresh water is provided.
