Vindonissa Legionary Trail

The Vindonissa Legionary Trail in Windisch, Switzerland, is an open-air Roman adventure park on the site of the only Roman legionary camp in Switzerland. Visitors can explore eleven original Roman sites, including the amphitheatre, baths, military hospital and reconstructed soldiers' quarters, and experience how some 6,000 legionaries lived 2,000 years ago. The trail offers self-guided tours, guided tours, play tours for children, workshops and overnight stays in reconstructed Roman accommodation. It is part of Museum Aargau and also hosts changing temporary exhibitions and events.
