Urner Mineralien-Museum
The Urner Mineralien-Museum in Seedorf on the Weg der Schweiz is a mineral museum housed in a former farm building of the A Pro water castle dating from the 16th century. In 16 winding display cases, crystals and other minerals from the Alpine region are exhibited. The loans from mineral collectors are exchanged annually, and a DVD film about mineral-hunting experiences plays in the lowest room. The museum is under the patronage of the Urner Mineralienfreunde and is suitable for family, school and group excursions.
Families and Kids
The museum is suitable for family outings and school classes. School children up to 16 years receive reduced admission, and Uri schools in grades 1 to 9 visit the museum free of charge. There are no special children's activities, but the mineral exhibition is interesting for children.
