The Textile Museum St. Gallen houses one of the most important textile collections in Switzerland, with around 56,000 objects including historical embroidery, lace, fabrics, costumes, sample books, and fashion photographs. It illustrates the multifaceted history of the Swiss textile industry from the Middle Ages to the present day, with permanent and special exhibitions on textile design, production, and social history.

The Textile Museum welcomes families with children from age 7 upwards, offering sketch notebooks and colouring prints. Special workshops and guided tours on textile topics are available, and schoolchildren up to 18 years enjoy free admission.
