Textile Museum St. Gallen

The Textile Museum in St. Gallen, Switzerland, houses one of the most important textile collections in Switzerland, with around 56,000 objects including historical embroidery, hand-worked lace, textiles from outside Europe, historical fabrics and costumes from several centuries. Sample books, fashion photographs and drawings expand the collection, which illustrates the multifaceted history of the Swiss textile industry, both embedded in the local region and connected internationally. The museum also operates a textile library and hosts changing temporary exhibitions alongside its permanent exhibition on the history of textiles in Eastern Switzerland.

Families and Kids

The Textile Museum welcomes young visitors and families. Children and young people from 7 years of age can receive a sketch notebook from the KARO visitor service, and colouring-in prints are available for younger children. Special workshops and guided tours on textile topics are offered for children and young people.
