Telephone Museum Telephonica in the Greuterhof
The Telephonica Telephone Museum is located in the attic of the historic Greuterhof in Islikon near Frauenfeld in Switzerland. The collection comprises around 760 exhibits on the history of telecommunications, from telegraphy and telephony in Switzerland to fibre-optic technology, teleprinters, fax machines, mobile phones and switching technology. Many historic devices have been restored and can be operated during guided tours. The museum documents the development of communication from ancient Greek torch telegraphy to the smartphone era.
Families and Kids
Children can operate and start up many historic telephone devices themselves during the guided tours. The diver's telephone invites even smaller visitors to take an unusual selfie. The principle of Morse code is understandable even for children.
