Swiss Straw Museum

The Swiss Straw Museum in Wohlen, Aargau, is dedicated to the history of straw plaiting and the hat-braid industry in Switzerland, with a focus on the Freiamt region. The permanent exhibition presents the journey from cottage industry to industrial mass production for the international fashion market, using multimedia and interactive displays. The museum also hosts special exhibitions, such as the PRIX PAILLE competition showcasing contemporary works inspired by the collection.

Families and Kids

Children aged 5-9 can explore the museum with Zaggli, the mascot, on a dedicated tour with tasks at various stations. A digital scavenger hunt ('Where is Rudolf?') through the park is available via the Actionbound app. Workshops for children and families are offered regularly, e.g. crafting with straw.
