The Museum im Zeughaus in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, is the museum for the history of Switzerland and its army. At its locations in Schaffhausen and Diessenhofen it conveys knowledge and historical context about the military, political and social development of Switzerland and its army. With exhibits from its own extensive collection it illustrates the technical development of the equipment and armament of the Swiss army in the 19th and 20th centuries. The museum presents eight exhibitions and two show depots of historical collections in the historic buildings of the Cantonal Zeughaus in Schaffhausen and at the Diessenhofen site, and also hosts changing special exhibitions.

Opening hours

Winter break until 20 March 2026. From 21 March 2026 to 31 October 2026 the museum is open every Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00. Outside regular opening hours, guided tours for groups are possible at any time by prior arrangement.
