Lucerne Art Museum

The Kunstmuseum Luzern in Lucerne, Switzerland, is one of the most important Swiss art museums and presents around ten exhibitions per year, including internationally renowned temporary exhibitions and an annually reconceived collection presentation. The focus is on contemporary art, with acquisitions from the 1990s to the present on display. The museum promotes diversity, exchange and inclusion and offers a rich education programme. In addition to the permanent collection presentations, changing temporary exhibitions take place.

The Kunstmuseum Luzern offers a wide range of activities for families and children: family tours for adults with children aged 5 and over, a free children's handout and a mediation room with creative tasks. The children's club for children aged 5 to 10 meets on Saturdays or Wednesday afternoons throughout the school year.

  • Am I allowed to take photos in the Kunstmuseum Luzern?
    Photography and filming for private purposes with smartphones and digital compact cameras is permitted. Flash, tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed. Professional photo and film shoots must be registered and approved in advance.

    Handbags up to DIN A4 size (approx. 20 × 30 × 10 cm) may be brought into the exhibition. Bags needed for medical aids such as a ventilator are exempt.
