Local Museum

The Local Museum of the municipality of Andwil in Switzerland has existed since 1991 and is housed in the former Bürgerheim (citizens' home) of the municipality. Across four floors it shows, among other things, a model of a mill with sawmill and bone stamping plant, Andwil peat cutting and agriculture, as well as living culture from earlier times, two old detention cells, craft tools, historical cheese-making objects and an old shoemaker's workshop. The ground-floor room is reserved for changing exhibitions. The museum is run by the Andwil Local Museum Commission.

Opening hours

The Local Museum is open on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from September to March, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Groups can also visit the museum outside opening hours by prior arrangement.
