Wildegg Castle

Wildegg Castle is a Baroque castle and garden estate in Wildegg in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland, part of Museum Aargau. The castle is known as Switzerland's only 'talking castle', where video portraits of former residents tell stories of the von Effinger family. The living museum offers over 30 furnished rooms giving insight into aristocratic life around 1800, alongside historic Baroque kitchen and rose gardens. The castle estate covers around 93 hectares with gardens, an organic farm, vineyards and forest.

Families and Kids

Wildegg Castle offers many attractions for children and families, including a Foxtrail treasure hunt, dressing up as knights and ladies in the old castle barn, and a children's castle and horse stable. A playground with barbecue fire pits is located about 250 metres from the castle and is free of charge.

  • Is the castle building accessible with a pushchair?
