Arenenberg Castle

Arenenberg Castle in Salenstein on the Thurgau shore of Lake Constance houses the Napoleon Museum, the only German-language museum on Napoleonic history. Arenenberg is a cultural, seminar and educational center with over 600 years of garden tradition. The museum presents collections on Napoleonic history and hosts changing special exhibitions.

Families and Kids

Children and young people aged 6 to 16 receive reduced admission, and children under 6 enter free. The museum offers guided tours and educational programs for families and school groups.

  • Are bags and backpacks allowed inside the museum?
    No. Bags, backpacks, etc. must be deposited in lockers before entering the museum.
  • Is photography allowed in the museum?
    No. Photo and film recordings are not permitted for conservation reasons.
  • Is the museum accessible for wheelchair users?
    The museum is only partially wheelchair accessible (ground floor; 3 steps at the entrance).
  • Are dogs allowed at Arenenberg?
    Dogs (on a leash) are allowed in the park, but not inside the museum.
  • Is there an audio guide available?
