Sportbahnen Elm

Sportbahnen Elm operates the Elm ski area in the Glarus Alps in Switzerland. The area offers over 40 kilometres of pistes up to 2,105 m above sea level, a gondola from Elm to Ämpächli, chairlifts and ski lifts, and a four-kilometre snow-covered sledging run. In summer, the mountain world at Ämpächli is accessible with the Riesenwald, a children's paradise, a mountain cart and scooter track, and hiking trails.

Families and Kids

The Kinderarena Ämpächli offers three magic carpets and a practice lift for children's first attempts at skiing or snowboarding. The Kinderparadies Ämpächli next to the Bergrestaurant includes giant trampolines, a zipline, a giant swing, a petting zoo, a gold mine, a treehouse and an indoor play area, all free to use. The Riesenwald adventure trail with 17 stations is suitable for prams.

Food and drinks

The Bergrestaurant Ämpächli next to the mountain station is a modern self-service restaurant with a coffee bar and large sun terrace, offering classics such as French fries and spaghetti as well as a salad buffet. The rustic Älpli, about five minutes' walk away, serves regional dishes on a sunny terrace with bar and deckchairs. The Munggä Hüttä, open only in winter, lies in the middle of the ski area with a large sun terrace and specialities such as fondue and table grill.
