FAQ

  • Is there night skiing or night sledding at Klewenalp-Stockhütte?
Yes. During Night Magic events you can ski down the slopes under moonlight and stars, or enjoy night sledding. A separate Evening Sports Pass is required, as the regular Ski Day Pass is not valid for Night Skiing; multi-day ski passes (2–7 days) do include the evening offers.
  • Can I rent ski equipment and sledges directly in the ski area?
Yes. Arena Sport rents skis, snowboards, boots, poles, helmets and snowshoes at the Klewenalp mountain station (daily) and the Emmetten station (weekends), without prior reservation. Sledges can be rented for CHF 15 per day at the Klewenalp and Stockhütte mountain stations; they cannot be reserved and may sell out at peak times.
  • Are the children's areas free to use?
The children's areas Klewenboden (Theo's Magic Carpet and platter lift Klewenboden) and Stockhütte (Magic Carpet and Telecord) can be used free of charge by beginners in skiing and snowboarding. A regular ticket is still required for the feeder lifts (Beckenried-Klewenalp cable car and Emmetten-Stockhütte gondola lift), and outside these areas a valid ticket is needed.
  • What does a ski pass include besides the slopes?
A Ski Day Pass covers the feeder lifts (Beckenried-Klewenalp cable car and Emmetten-Stockhütte gondola lift) and all winter sports facilities in the area, and is valid from 08:00 to 17:30. Every Ski Day Pass, Sledding Day Pass, FamilienHit and Hiking Day Pass also includes the PostBus between Beckenried, Post and Emmetten, Post. A keycard deposit of CHF 5 applies.
  • How do I reach Klewenalp-Stockhütte by public transport?
Take the train to Lucerne, continue with the Zentralbahn to Stans and then PostBus route 311 to Beckenried Post, or onward to Emmetten. The area can also be reached by boat via Beckenried, with the Lucerne–Beckenried ferry running year-round.
