Niwärch - Gorperi - Undra

The southern acclivity is exposed to exceptional amounts of sunshine. Agriculture was impossible in this district until the water channels were built. Under extremely difficult conditions, the water was diverted from the Baltschieder Valley through about 20 suones. The Niwärch (built in 1381) has its source at 1300 m, the Gorperi (1640) at 1220 m and the Undra (1377) at 1100 m.
