Opening hours

Open daily, 365 days a year. From March to October the zoo is open from 9 am to 6 pm; from November to February from 9 am to 5 pm. The Masoala Rainforest opens at 10 am. On December 24 the entire zoo closes at 4 pm.

  • Are dogs allowed in Zoo Zurich?
    No. Dogs or other pets are not allowed in Zoo Zurich. The only exception is certified assistance dogs, which are allowed except in the Australia outdoor exhibit.
  • Are lockers available at Zoo Zurich?
    Yes. Lockers are located near the main entrance and at Masoala Rainforest. Prices range from CHF 2 to CHF 5 depending on size, and payment is by coins only.
  • Is the Masoala Rainforest accessible to people with walking impairments?
    Yes. The main paths of the Masoala Rainforest are paved with tarmac and accessible to wheelchairs.
  • Can I pay with euros at Zoo Zurich?
    Yes, but only banknotes are accepted (no coins), and you will receive change in Swiss francs.
  • Are riding devices such as kickboards allowed in the zoo?
