Wine Museum on Lake Zurich

The Wine Museum on Lake Zurich in Au (Canton of Zurich, Switzerland) documents the history of winegrowing in the Lake Zurich region. The museum is housed in a historic barn on the Au peninsula and features, among other things, a 12-metre-long functioning tree press dating from 1761. It actively collects equipment, documents and media documenting the history of winegrowing on Lake Zurich. The museum offers guided tours through the museum and the vineyard as well as wine tastings and aperitifs, and hosts changing special exhibitions.

Yes. The Wine Museum can be rented for private and business events. Depending on the size of the event, either the whole museum or the museum room with kitchen is available.
  • Is there a bistro and a wine shop in the museum?
Yes. Every Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00 the cosy bistro and the shop are open (closed during the summer holidays from July 19 to August 9).
  • Does the museum offer guided tours in English?
Yes. The museum offers guided tours in English through the museum and the vineyard that trace the history of winegrowing in the Lake Zurich region.
