Waldegg Castle

Schloss Waldegg is a baroque castle and museum in Feldbrunnen-St. Niklaus near Solothurn, Switzerland. Built between 1682 and 1686 as a summer residence for the Solothurn patrician Johann Viktor von Besenval, the castle shows the France-oriented lifestyle of the Solothurn patriciate through richly decorated salons, paintings and original furnishings. The grounds include a baroque garden, an orangery parterre and a kitchen garden with old plant varieties. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.

Families and Kids

Schloss Waldegg offers children and families various ways to discover the castle and its history, including family tours and a digital picture puzzle tour. Children aged 6 to 12 can celebrate their birthday at the castle with a two-hour programme including crafting in the castle workshop or a treasure hunt. The museum regularly offers family workshops where children can get creative after a short guided tour.
