Valais Museum of Bisses

The Valais Museum of Bisses in Botyre (Ayent) presents the history and functions of traditional irrigation channels (bisses) through an immersive and interactive permanent exhibition. It integrates contemporary art works that dialogue with the themes of water, territory, environment, memory, and time. The museum also features a life-size bisse reconstruction outdoors and a pedagogical trail for children.

Families and Kids

Outside the museum, children can play with sluice gates and a warning hammer along a real bisse. Indoor and outdoor activities include a birthday party treasure hunt (ages 7-10), workshops, and a self-guided educational trail. All children's offers are available by reservation only during the annual opening period.
