Valais History Museum

The Valais History Museum is located in the medieval fortified town of Valère in Sion, Switzerland. Its permanent exhibition presents the cultural history of the Valais from prehistory to the present day through over a thousand original objects, models and multimedia presentations spread across 27 rooms. The collections comprise some 50,000 objects, including rare medieval furniture and weaponry, numismatics, and the famous Neolithic stelae of Sion. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.

From October to May, open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00; from June to September, open every day from 11:00 to 18:00. Closed on 25 December and 1 January.
