Tibet Museum

The Tibet Museum in Gruyères, Switzerland, presents a collection of nearly 400 works of Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhist art dating from the 3rd to the 18th century. Assembled by Alain Bordier, the collection includes sculptures, paintings, manuscripts and ritual objects from Tibet, Nepal, Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan, northern India, China, Mongolia and Burma. Housed in the former Saint-Joseph chapel of the old Château Saint-Germain, the museum displays buddhas, deities, masters and symbols used for meditation. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
