Thun Castle
Thun Castle in Thun, Switzerland, is a medieval castle museum with four towers that towers high above the city and offers views of Lake Thun and the Alps. Since 1888 the donjon has housed the Historical Museum, which tells 800 years of Thun's history across seven levels – from the cellar to the towers. Highlights include the uniquely preserved high-medieval Knights' Hall and a collection of over 17,000 objects, including the significant Thun majolica. The castle also offers changing special exhibitions and a virtual 3D experience.
Families and Kids
Thun Castle offers many activities for children and families: the Rittertrail (knight trail) across three castles, a detective game, and the 'Made in Thun' search game, all available at the ticket office. Children aged 6 to 16 pay CHF 3, and those under 6 enter free. The castle is not suitable for strollers due to the many stairs.
