The Castle of Sasso Corbaro

The Castle of Sasso Corbaro is a medieval Sforza fortress in Bellinzona, Switzerland, part of the UNESCO-listed Fortress of Bellinzona. Built in 1479 by architect Benedetto Ferrini, it features a square courtyard, a massive keep and a lookout tower. Perched 230 metres above the city, it offers panoramic views over the Riviera valley and Lake Maggiore. The castle hosts changing temporary national and international exhibitions and includes the Osteria Sasso Corbaro in its inner courtyard.

Opening hours

Open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 from 28 March to 8 November 2026. During the winter period only the external and internal courtyards of the castle can be visited.
