Swiss Woodcarving Museum Brienz

The Swiss Woodcarving Museum is located in the heart of Brienz, Switzerland, the national centre of woodcarving. It showcases the wide variety of traditional and artistically significant wood carvings from Brienz and the Bernese Oberland, including figures, reliefs, furniture, music boxes and wooden chalets. The museum also presents the history of woodcarving and the work of outstanding woodcarvers, and hosts changing temporary exhibitions. A bistro and shop complete the visit.

Families and Kids

The museum is great for families, with wooden cows, a bear family, St. Bernards and a music box house to discover. Children up to the age of 16 enter free of charge, and there is an Explorer's workshop where young and old can learn about different woods. Families can also take part in hands-on cow carving workshops.
