Swiss Space Museum

The Swiss Space Museum in Regensdorf, Switzerland, is a small museum dedicated to spaceflight and space exploration, presenting original artefacts and models that are unique in Switzerland and partly in Europe. Visitors can experience the history of space conquest from the pioneers and the Apollo moon landings to the Space Shuttle and current missions such as Artemis, and some exhibits may even be touched. FAQ

  • Is the museum accessible for wheelchair users?
    There is no official lift to the basement, but wheelchair users can be accompanied down via a goods lift in the commercial premises. Visitors are asked to inform the museum in advance so that everything can be prepared.
  • Can some exhibits be touched?
    Yes. Some models and artefacts are displayed unprotected, and objects marked with a specific symbol may be touched, while objects marked with another symbol are extremely fragile and costly and must not be touched.
  • Is there parking available at the museum?
    The museum has no parking of its own and no parking garage. Only a few parking spaces labelled 'Bleuler Maschinenbau' may be used, and public transport is strongly recommended.
  • Can the museum be visited outside regular opening hours?
    Yes. Groups can book an exclusive visit outside regular opening hours, which includes two hours of private access and a 45-minute personal guided tour of the exhibition.
  • Are school visits possible?
    School and student group visits are only possible to a limited extent because the museum is run by volunteers. It is desirable to combine several classes at a common date, and visits are currently supported by the University of Bern and the National Centre of Competence in Research PlanetS.
