Swiss Heritage Center at the Villa Patumbah

The Swiss Heritage Center at the Villa Patumbah in Zurich, Switzerland, is a center for building culture run by the Swiss Heritage Society. The historicist villa from 1885 tells the story of its builder Carl Fürchtegott Grob, who operated tobacco plantations on Sumatra, and addresses Switzerland's colonial past. The center presents exhibitions on building culture, offers guided tours, theatre tours and workshops, and is surrounded by a historic park. The second floor with the Asian gallery can be visited as part of a guided tour.

Children can colour, draw and read stories in the exhibition. Workshops for children and families take place from November to June, and an activity booklet guides playfully through the exhibition. A detective puzzle is available for families with children aged 6 and above.

    The Asian gallery on the second floor is not open to the public, but can be visited as part of a guided tour, for example at the lunchtime tour or the Sunday tour.
