Sewing Machine Museum

The Sewing Machine Museum at Pilgersteg in Dürnten presents the history of the mechanical sewing machine from the end of the 18th century to the modern era. The exhibition includes several hundred antique sewing machines, accessories and objects from related fields such as shoemaking and fur processing. The museum is a technology museum listed as a Zurich memory institution.

Families and Kids

The museum recommends visiting only for children over 10 years of age, as some exhibits pose a risk of injury. Specially designed guided tours at reduced rates are offered for school classes. Old treadle sewing machines can be tried out.
