Schmid Museum
The Museo Schmid is located in the village of Brè sopra Lugano in Switzerland. It is the former home of the artist Wilhelm Schmid (1892-1971), which was given to the City of Lugano by the will of his wife Maria Schmid, together with part of his works and his library. The small museum has preserved the intact atmosphere that surrounded the artist and is an example of a total work that shows not only the artworks but also the environment that inspired the artist. Schmid was a major exponent of New Objectivity, a German painting movement after Expressionism from the 1920s.
