Schaulager

The Schaulager in Münchenstein near Basel, Switzerland, was founded in 2003 with the idea of combining the storage and the making visible of contemporary art. As a research institution, storage facility, exhibition and event venue in one, it offers a specialized professional audience a platform and research opportunities. The collection of the Emanuel Hoffmann-Stiftung is stored and researched here openly and visibly. In addition, the Schaulager realizes exhibitions and projects to make contemporary art accessible to a broad public, and hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
Families and Kids
The Schaulager offers school classes of all ages and university groups the opportunity to work in front of originals. The guided tours and workshops of the art education program are also suitable for younger primary school students. The public Schaulager tour lasts 60 minutes and the visit to the Dieter Roth room lasts 30 minutes.
