Sasso San Gottardo

Sasso San Gottardo is a historic artillery fortress museum located on the Gotthard Pass in Switzerland, over 2000 meters above sea level. It is the largest publicly accessible fortress complex in Switzerland, featuring the historic fortress with the Metro del Sasso cable car, troop accommodation, a Cold War exhibition, and a General Guisan exhibition. The museum also houses the only permanent exhibition in Switzerland about Goethe and his three Gotthard journeys, along with a crystal cavern, an energy cavern, and a light show on the Gotthard watershed. Visitors can explore the exhibitions and historic fortress on individual or guided tours, including adventure tours through disused sections of the fortress.
