Roman Museum

The Roman Museum is located in a medieval tower built above the entrance of the amphitheater in Avenches. Its permanent exhibition displays the most important finds from the Roman city of Aventicum, including a copy of the gold bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, sculptures, mosaics, stone inscriptions, fragments of a Roman organ, and numerous everyday objects.

Families and Kids

The museum offers guided tours and workshops for school classes and children's groups, including a storytelling tour linking exhibits to Greek and Roman mythology. A free activity booklet for children and families is available at the reception.
