Neuchâtel Museum of Art and History

The Musée d'art et d'histoire de Neuchâtel (MahN) is an encyclopedic museum housing fine arts collections (paintings, sculptures, graphic arts) as well as history and applied arts collections including the famous Jaquet-Droz automata, a Ruckers harpsichord, and historical city models. Its monumental staircase decorated by Léo-Paul Robert and Clément Heaton is a unique total work of art in Switzerland.

Families and Kids

The museum offers children's workshops (e.g. first engraving, building workshop), an audio guide for young visitors for the 'Mouvements' exhibition, and educational materials for school groups. The Jaquet-Droz automata demonstrations fascinate children. Free admission for under 16s.
