The Neu-Falkenstein castle ruins are the landmark of Balsthal in the canton of Solothurn, Switzerland. The medieval castle, probably built in the early 12th century, was destroyed by fire in 1798 during the Helvetian Revolution and has since been preserved as a ruin. Large parts of the ruins, including the keep with its panoramic view over Balsthal and the Thal district, are freely accessible.
