National Museum of San Gottardo

The Museo Nazionale del San Gottardo on the Gotthard Pass brings the history of the Gotthard to life from its origins around 1200 to the present day. The permanent exhibition covers seven themed rooms ranging from the Uri Hole to the AlpTransit base tunnel, including railway tunnels, military fortifications, hydroelectric power stations, and the road tunnel. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions in collaboration with ALPS (Alpine Museum of Switzerland).
