museumbickel

The museumbickel in Walenstadt, Switzerland, has existed since 2002 and presents three to four exhibitions a year with contemporary regional and supra-regional artists. The museum is run by the Karl Bickel Foundation and honours the work of its namesake Karl Bickel, an outstanding commercial graphic artist, stamp engraver, painter and sculptor. The exhibition hall with its almost unchanged industrial architecture from the early twentieth century also houses the Bickel Cabinet with insights into Bickel's complete oeuvre as well as changing temporary exhibitions. The museum also includes the Paxmal, the peace monument above Walenstadt.

Families and Kids

Children and young people up to 16 years have free admission to the museumbickel. The museum regularly offers open studios and children's workshops where children and adults can get creative themselves. The Paxmal is also accessible for families, but requires a hike of about one hour.
