Museum Walserhaus
The Museum Walserhaus in Bosco Gurin, the highest year-round inhabited village in Ticino, Switzerland (1506 m), is an ethnographic museum housed in one of the oldest houses in the Alpine arc, dating from 1386. It presents the history, culture and language of the Walser community through several themed sections, including a language museum, an architecture museum, a lifestyle museum, a history museum, an art museum, a folklore and religion museum and a mountain agriculture museum. The museum also features a ProSpecieRara garden where old vegetable and herb varieties are cultivated, and hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
Families and Kids
Children and young people aged 6-16 receive a reduced admission. The museum offers a varied programme of activities for families and groups, including guided tours, themed walks, craft afternoons and educational trails. The lifestyle museum section shows traditional family life, including objects dedicated to babies and children.
