Museum Wagonsfabrik Schlieren
The Museum Wagonsfabrik Schlieren in Schlieren, Switzerland, is dedicated to the history of the former Schweizerische Wagons- und Aufzügefabrik (SWS), a pioneering Swiss manufacturer of railway vehicles and elevators. The permanent exhibition on around 800 m² presents the company's history, its products and its employees, from the first wagons and tramcars to aircraft construction and elevator technology. Highlights include original exhibits such as the kitchen of a former MITROPA dining car and a rescued Ticino railcar. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions and events on the region's industrial history.
Families and Kids
The museum recommends a visit from school age in the company of an adult. Due to the current renovation, only a very reduced children's offer is available, with a kids' corner planned for the future. Children's birthday parties can be held in the stationary Ticino railcar in front of the museum.
