Museum of History of Valais

The Museum of History of Valais is located in the medieval fortified village of Valère in Sion. Its permanent exhibition presents over a thousand original objects, models and multimedia displays tracing the cultural history of the Valais region from prehistory to the present day. The museum also features the Treasure of the Basilica of Valère, accessible by guided tour.

Families and Kids

The museum offers family visits with audio guides, games and interactive exhibits. Children's birthday parties can be organized. The 'Jouer comme autrefois' activity lets families play old games during the visit. However, access with pushchairs is difficult due to cobblestone streets and stairs.
