Museum Krauchthal

Museum Krauchthal in Krauchthal (Canton of Bern, Switzerland) is dedicated in its permanent exhibition to the three themes of sandstone, Thorberg and village cultural heritage. It shows the history of the sandstone trade with tools, photographs and documents, as well as the history of Thorberg from monastery through bailiffs to today's high-security prison. A large part of the collection comprises village cultural heritage with objects, images and documents from village life. The museum also offers guided tours and a freely accessible sandstone trail, as well as changing special exhibitions.
