The Museum für Gestaltung Zürich is the leading Swiss museum for design and visual communication, located in Zurich, Switzerland. It welcomes visitors at three locations in Zurich: Ausstellungsstrasse, Toni-Areal, and Pavillon Le Corbusier. The museum holds Switzerland's largest design collection with over 580,000 objects spanning graphics, typography, poster design, textiles, product design, and arts and crafts. The permanent Swiss Design Collection presents around 2,500 objects and makes parts of the archive accessible, while the museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.

Families and Kids

The museum offers workshops, guided tours and more especially for children and their companions. In many exhibitions there is an educational station next to the exhibits that invites children to discover and try things out. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and admission is free for visitors under 20 years.

  • Are baby carriages permitted in the exhibition rooms?
    Baby carriages are permitted in the collection and exhibition rooms at the Ausstellungsstrasse and Toni-Areal sites, but food and drink may not be carried.
  • Are lockers available for storing bags and larger items?
    Yes, lockers are available in the checkroom and no change is required for use. Bags, rucksacks and larger items such as umbrellas are not permitted in the exhibition rooms and must be left in the checkroom.
  • Is the museum wheelchair accessible?
    All areas at the Ausstellungsstrasse and Toni-Areal locations are wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair parking space is available in front of the museum entrance at Ausstellungsstrasse, and wheelchair toilets are available at both locations.
