Museum Franz Gertsch

The Museum Franz Gertsch in Burgdorf, Switzerland, is a privately funded museum dedicated to the work of Swiss artist Franz Gertsch (1930–2022), a pioneer of photorealism and master of the modern woodcut. On about half of its exhibition space it also presents changing exhibitions of contemporary art, with a focus on the interface between painting and photography. The collection includes paintings and numerous woodcuts by Gertsch from 1984 to the present, including the monumental Four Seasons cycle. The museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
