Museo di Val Verzasca

The Museo di Val Verzasca in Sonogno, Switzerland, is an ethnographic museum dedicated to the culture and traditions of the Verzasca valley. Its permanent exhibition in the historic Casa Genardini presents the microcosm of a Verzasca house, including a kitchen, bedroom, schoolroom and a space devoted to the emigration of chimney sweeps, telling the story of poverty and child labour. The modern 'Laboratorio degli Antichi gesti' building explores the evolution of the landscape and ways of life in the territory up to around 1940, including a 3D model of the valley. The museum also comprises the Frasco mill and hydroelectric plant and the small wild-hay museum at Odro, and hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
