Musée d'art du Valais
Located in the heart of the old town of Sion, Switzerland, the Musée d'art du Valais (MAV) is the reference institution for artistic production linked to the canton of Valais, presenting the art collection of the State of Valais as well as contemporary art projects. Its collections of around 6,000 works span ancient, modern and contemporary art, with a strong identity focused on landscape and the mountain imaginary, including works by artists of the École de Savièse. Housed in the medieval Vidomnat castle at the foot of the Valère and Tourbillon hills, the museum also hosts changing temporary exhibitions and supports emerging artists through prizes and residencies.
Families and Kids
The museum offers free-access visit supports for younger visitors for a playful route through the rooms, as well as numerous family visit routes with playful and creative supports. Children's birthday parties can also be celebrated in the museum.
