Münzkabinett and Ancient Collection of the City of Winterthur
The Münzkabinett und Antikensammlung in Winterthur, Switzerland, is a museum dedicated to the cultural history of money. Its collections span three millennia of cultural history, with a focus on Greek coins (the best in Switzerland), Swiss coins, and an ancient collection featuring Greek pottery, Roman glass, and Egyptian objects. The museum also houses a specialist library of around 20,000 volumes on coin, monetary, and economic history, as well as study collections of plaster casts and seal impressions. It hosts changing temporary exhibitions.
Families and Kids
The museum offers a children's cube (Kinderkubus) with materials about money, supervised afternoons, and action days. The large park provides space for movement. Workshops for school classes are available on archaeology and monetary history.
