Maison de la Tourbière
The Maison de la Tourbière in Les Ponts-de-Martel, Switzerland, is a scientific, cultural and hospitality establishment dedicated to the study, promotion and protection of peat bogs. Its museum space (interpretation centre) presents the biology of peat bogs and the history of their exploitation, with cross-cutting perspectives on human-nature relations. The 2.8 km Sentier de la Tourbière (peat bog trail) winds through the Marais Rouge, offering ten platforms to observe flora and fauna as well as traces of historical peat extraction. The site also hosts a national competence centre for research and training on peat bogs, a restaurant and a hotel.
